Jai Hindley has retained second place in the Giro d'Italia after crossing the line with leader Richard Carapaz, in a stage won by Colombian Santiago Buitrago.

Jai Hindley remains three seconds behind leader and race favourite Richard Carapaz after a tough 17th stage of the Giro d'Italia, which was won by Santiago Buitrago.
