The driver is in custody and police are investigating the incident, which happened near the popular Kurfürstendamm shopping boulevard in Berlin's west.

A car drove into a crowd of people in Berlin, killing one person and leaving five with life-threatening injuries, in a district of the German capital popular with tourists and shoppers.
