Google Talk is ending support for the third-party XMPP apps that kept it going - The Verge

Google is ending third-party support for Talk, its messaging app that used to let users send messages directly through Gmail. Users who accessed Talk through XMPP clients like Pidgin or Gajim will be disconnected after June 16th.
