韓國蔚山科學技術研究院去年大膽進行一項實驗，發明了一款可以將排泄物轉化為電力的馬桶 Beevi ，而為了鼓勵學生使用，甚至還發行了數位貨幣，讓學生們能夠靠「大便」賺零花錢、點糞成金，只可惜由於經費不足使得計劃難以為繼，這項實驗已於今年 2 月被迫終止。
